Jellyfish Gallery : Monoculture - Marta Solomianko.
Review by Anneliese Vobis: Rhythmic repetitive forms reflect in abstract manner on the ideas of our society. The use of environmentally friendly materials like beeswax on canvas evokes a peaceful meditative setting enhanced by the wonderful smell of wax. Exciting linework creates a form of secret language by the artist. Some pieces have a classical Eva Hesse feeling. A really sensible yet mystical show, and worth a visit.

Review and images by Anneliese Vobis: Sculptural elegant forms invite to step closer; photorealistic paintings are a good contrast to the abstract sculptures. Collaged elements extend from floor to ceiling and excite with an overlaid 3-D effects. The attractive body part paintings give the final touch to this Wonderland show.

111 Minna Gallery : Synthesis - John Wentz.
Review by Anneliese Vobis: The art of John Wentz seems like an exploration into hidden childhood experiences and memories. Superman perhaps represents an imagined hero figure. Wentz marries dreamlike imagery with strong geometric forms to express powerful stories. Deeply personal references under many layers result in strangely outlandish environments. This newly developed cosmology works painstakingly well with drawing elements to transform the viewer into a narrative partner with this magical symbolism. Fabulous show...

Driftwood Salon : Organica - You Are What You Eat.
Artists: Scott Hove, Alberto Ybarra, Eric Joyner, Lisa Alonzo, Dale Erickson, Lindsey Millikan, Juniper Harrower.
Review by Anneliese Vobis: The artists address the theme of organic foods in very different art styles-- from simple and humorous to classical painting compositions. Especially the mask with teeth cake by Scott Hove and the donut imagery by Eric Joyner jump me back to my memories and make me smile and hungry. A show to check out closely.
