Review by RWM: Get lost in the woods, Eric William Carroll is likely saying with his camera-less photographs on blueprint paper. They're a great place to experience solitude and reflection as they heal and inspire. Every one of us can go forth and then return to tell our tales. Nice to see such an homage.
Susan Lynn Smith seems to find her escapes in the natural living green world. You see here the peace and relief. Perhaps this is an acknowledgement of someone who wishes for nature to be part of all surroundings, an outcome not always possible, as evidenced by her images of civilization making it's inroads.
Comment by AB: Plato's Home Movies by Eric William Carroll is probably the most effective use of the gallery space I've seen here to date. RayKo normally overloads the walls with images of every ilk, requiring intense effort on the part of viewers to assimilate the essence. Immersion in Carroll's arcadian vision is next to effortless. For those of you playing the home version, he tells me that the images will fade substantially during the course of the show and eventually vanish altogether-- thus completing the reverie.

Unspeakable Projects : Matt Momchilov.
Review by RWM: Decadence among the recently deceased and majorly famous. A grotesqueness is evident even through the makeup. Rebellion here with pop heroes on leather jackets for this dark time.
Comment by AB: Matt Momchilov takes a hard and disturbing look at the rabid fanatic aspects of pop icon worship and the ways devotees over-venerate them in their lives. No scientists, inventors, thinkers or leaders here. We're way too busy wallowing in vapid celebrity crap. Momchilov tells me his studded leather jacket portraits are charcoal and acrylic and totally wearable. Good art; good show; go see.
