Comment by AB: Examples of American, European and Asian post-war abstraction. An excellent opportunity to compare and contrast simultaneous developments in international expressionistic abstraction. You don't see a lot by these artists on exhibit around town. In other words... worth a visit.

Comment by AB: Three public and private collections contribute to this fascinating exhibition of historic African-Americana including painting, sculpture, signed and inscribed first edition books and literature, film posters, sheet music, and more. We've come a long way already, but we still have a long way to go. Definitely worth a visit.

Review by Anneliese Vobis: The hybrid medium of the comic combines verbal and visual components to convey narratives or sometimes only information. All graphic novels are a powerful means of bringing more transparency to socio-cultural topics. Here is an overwhelming richness of imagery in different points of view on the subjects expressed, whether artistic, social or political. A real must see.

Comment by AB: Time is the headliner of this artistic endeavor-- its passage, quantification, observation, ravages, and just plain appreciation of its infinite continuum.

Review by Anneliese Vobis: The installations focus on gatherings of family and friends to honor the deceased. Instead of fearing death, this exhibition embraces death in order to enjoy the beauty of life. The cult of Death is a colorful celebration where death takes on lively friendly expressions.
Review by RWM: Such splendor, diversity and style. Some may find it wild, but be happy that they were invited for the haunting.

Review by Clare Coppel: Walter Logue's small square black and white paintings of numbers represent the social security numbers of deceased famous people (they're public record) including that of Marcel Duchamp.
Comment by AB: Proprietor Chris McCaw tells me that Walter Logue's art is made entirely from SFMOMA material discards.

The Popular Workshop : Wide Wide Run - Jonathan Runcio.
Review by Anneliese Vobis: Upon entering the space, we find nicely crafted objects in post-minimalist style. After intense reading of the work we eventually get an idea as to their deeper meanings.
