Anglim Gilbert Gallery : Gay Outlaw - Ozone

Comment by AB: An exceptional, eclectic and notably unconventional array of sculptures include bronze, cast glass, wood and more. Always good.

Rena Bransten Gallery : Vik Muniz - Handmade

Comment by AB: Is it an art show or a quiz show? Well, it's both. The quiz part is trying to figure out whether you're looking at actual works of art like collages, crushed paper, mounted mini-doilies and interwoven string OR photographs of those works of art? The art part is that it's really hard to tell the difference, which makes them good art. This one's a definite yes.

Bass & Reiner Gallery : David Bayus - Chapel Perilous

Comment by AB: David Bayus concocts believable scenarios that in reality don't exist. The works on paper look digital, but they're actually exceptional graphite drawings. Like it.

Casemore Kirkeby : Sean McFarland - Echo

Comment by AB: New ways of looking at landscape. The photographs are often altered, but then placed within the context of multiple other photographs and objects, perceptions are maneuvered yet further. Recommended.

Ever Gold Projects : Zachary Armstrong - NOAH

Comment by AB: If you've ever wondered what anxiety, stress and tension look like, this might be a reasonable guess. At a distance perhaps, though they engage in more complex and gratifying ways when you zoom in close.
