Comment by AB: Words and phrases that typically come to mind when admiring Valentin Popov's paintings are innovative, original, versatile, brilliant, masterful, technically superb, observant, insightful, and last but not least, big league talent. I mean the dude can do pretty much anything-- and well. A show not to be missed, plus it celebrates the release of the first major monograph on Popov's art, plus he's here tonight signing copy after copy after copy after copy, thoroughly gratifying his considerable fan base. For those keeping score, notice the edges of Popov's paintings-- he tends to every last detail. A bona fide lesson in success.
