San Francisco Arts Commission at City Hall: McNair Evans - In Search of Great Men

Comment by AB: Over a four-year period, McNair Evans rides Amtrak all over America in annual two-week trips, documenting every aspect of his journeys including the people he meets, the tales they tell, and what he sees out the window as America flies by. The show is gloriously ordinary, monumentally impressive, and so completely convincing I feel like I've been riding the rails myself. Worth seeing.

San Francisco Arts Commission at Civic Center Plaza: Amanda Parer - Intrude

Comment by AB: Five huge inflatable illuminated rabbits by Tasmanian artist Amanda Parer are whimsically wonderful on the one hand, but also remind us that everything we do impacts the earth and all its creatures in infinite ways.
