Anthony Meier Fine Arts : Jasmin Sian - And the Little Rhinoceros Was Happy.

Comment by AB: For her debut solo show in San Francisco, New York-based artist Jasmin Sian presents intricate lace-like pen, ink and cutout works on paper, several executed on your basic brown paper bags. She sources her lace-like compositions along summer walks through New York's parks and gardens, often beginning her drawings on the spot in order to capture the essence of the instant. Good art; go see.

Robert Berman E6 Gallery : Moses Nornberg - Sound of Bullets.

Review by RWM: Though said before, i.e. another disquisition about war and oil in the Middle East, here one will find an exceptional amount of effort and detail. Bullets create a huge mosaic painting on the wall telling of those who did not survive despite camoflauge. Oil company logos made out of plastic bullets, and oil price signs, make the point terribly clear. Here said needfully again with verve.

Comment by AB: Guns and oil; death and dollars. Think about that next time you take a spin in your brand new car.

Review by Pilar Vree: The latest show at Creativity Explored celebrates the Year of the Tiger. With various depictions of animals from the Chinese zodiac, this show offers refreshingly unique work by artists who exhibit a mastery of color and line. It is a joyful show with a great selection of loose artwork for sale in the back room.
