111 Minna Gallery : Guy Colwell - Walking, Talking, Stalking

Comment by AB: Guy Colwell takes us on a wild high-density retrospective ride to the far reaches of his brain. Entrees include animals in all the wrong places, a confluence of clowns, miniature animal portraits, multicolor characters, a lazy day in the park, incongruous incidents, commentaries on conflicts, the environment and inequality... and just about anything else you can imagine. Worth checking out. It's an experience.

R/SF Projects : Maria Guzm?n Capron - Desdobl?

Comment by AB: According to the debriefing, the show's title translates to the word "unfold." All manner of fabrics, colors and patterns are quilted into fanciful compositions that suggest distinct narratives. Several ceramics and painted paper sculptures accent the action.

East Cut Art Fair :

Exhibitors: Chandra Cerrito Contemporary, George Lawson Gallery, Seager/Gray Gallery, and Slate Contemporary

Comment by AB: Four galleries snag an available space in the recently-christened East Cut (kinda between SOMA, downtown, I-80 and South Beach) and throw themselves a mini art fair.

Tyler Wood Gallery : Image as a Form - Mike Rubin

Comment by AB: Mike Rubin makes art out of studio residue and discards that were originally used in the creation of his sculptural works. Unfortunately, they still look like studio residue and discards.
