The Old Mint - San Francisco Art Openings

THE OLD MINT
THE SAN FRANCISCO WORLD OF RICHARD L. PERRI
OPENING 03.02.05

Comment: Richard L. Perri's San Francisco is romantic, working class, pre-loft, glam-free, and Bay side wharf zone maritime, particularly from the perspective of vestige landmark diners that once served it thick for beef meat longshoremen. Skies are warm, days are sunny, and life is good in this San Francisco of no pretense, where Herb Caen called the shots, artists were Commies, and honest labor payed the bills. Those days are pretty well gone; we're frilly and important now. But if you really want it, you can still hustle the edges and get a good whiff of freewheeling hard play grit.
