Art People Gallery : Elizabeth Gibbons - Glitter Wasp's World; Inge Behrens - Tropical Garden.

Review by RWM: Icons and archetypes merge in the fantastical works of Elizbeth Gibbons. You may find your mythical self in these wonderful images. Adjoining in the artspace are the beautiful floral images of Inge Behrens-- amazing flowers from around the world painted with style and impressive colors. Astounding and deeply felt.

Gallery Paule Anglim : Bull.Miletic - Mise en abyme; Thomas Aidala.

Comment by AB: Oslo artists Bull.Miletic (Synne Bull and Dragan Miletic) present two captivating videos set in Paris, one starring the Eiffel Tower and another distilling Boulevard Périphérique into gradations of color. Corresponding soundtracks and installations round the dealie bob out. In the vestibule, collages by award-winning architect, Thomas Aidala, are likely rooted in Suprematist and Non-Objective art of the early 20th century... and are priced to sell at $800-$2200.

Comment by AB: Accomplished impactful oversized abstracts by Ricardo Mazal are inspired by his journey to Tibet. Good stuff; sidle on by.

Modernbook Gallery : Floating World - Photographs by Brigitte Carnochan.

Review by RWM: Beautiful magical world portrayed here in traditional motifs. You may require the excitement of color to fully experience the ether of this floating realm. The existence presented is idealized, but not beyond belief. Lovely, exquisite and dreamlike.

Comment by AB: There's the everyday suck-o world and there's Brigitte Carnochan's Floating World. You decide which one you'd rather live in.

Corden Potts Gallery : The Gentle Flow of Time Celebrated - Takeshi Shikama.

Review by RWM: Getting lost in the forests of Japan is so nice, like revisiting a home not visited in a long time. Takeshi Shikama's images can be the end point of a journey or you can get lost in the fog or you can find respite. These forests come to life. Hopefully they can absorb the excess carbon dioxide we pump into the atmosphere before it's too late, and heal before the water rises and drowns their roots. Beautiful though they seem, you can sense the melancholy and impending damage.

Dolby Chadwick Gallery : Joshua Meyer - Everything In Between.

Review by RWM: Captured here in abstract is emotional experience. The rich impasto provides a catalyst to explore your innards. Revel in the freeform on display, but then track it back to the source and witness your personal zeitgeist camouflaged in deceptively pleasant color schemes. The work though guttural ultimately satisfies.

Ever Gold Gallery : Mark Mulroney - I'm Trying Really Hard; Joe Enos - Phoney Baloney.

Review by Clare Coppel: Well, I'm trying really hard too, so I appreciate when someone else makes an effort as well. Nice work, good use of the color pink. And astroturf with styrofoam fake wood paneling-- always a good choice; reminds me of when I went to Disneyland that one time.

Review by RWM: Objectification with more humor than precision as a goal. Have fun and don't be afraid of being offended.

Comment by AB: Tasteless, tawdry, tacky, crude, rude and hilarious... if it wasn't so true, that is. Yep. We're talkin' crotch, pubes, beer, blood, penises, disrespect in general, and popular priorities in America, the land of the free. Ain't freedom great? Pick of First Thursday.
