NOMA Gallery : Fragments of Reality - Paintings by Nikolai Atanassov.

Comment by AB: Elaborate labyrinthine colorific escapades seem imbued with cosmic overtones.

Jancar Jones Gallery : Virginia Holt.

Comment by AB: Direct innocent pretenseless abstracts dating from the mid-1960s by 93 year-old artist Virginia Holt are curiously alluring. I wouldn't mind hearing her story. The pricing's really weird, but I'm gonna have to say that if you be in da hood, you might consider stopping by.

Center for Sex and Culture : Nancy Peach - The Fine Art of Bondage; Danyol - Nudes.

Comment by AB: Erotic artist Nancy Peach paints up a forceful series of bondage compositions starring rigger Lochai and bondage ingenue Madison Young. To spice things up, Lochai and Young blindfold themselves; Lochai then proceeds to bind Young into a suspension from the ceiling in the precise posture as depicted in Peach's oversized four-panel painting. Unfortunately, I remain unspiced because by the time I get there, the performance is over. But everyone tells me I really missed an amazing demonstration, so now I feel even better. Also on the docket are Danyol's identifiably uncommon attitudes on intimacy.

Last Gasp : Last Gasp Holiday Party 2008 - Burritos, Beer & Cheer.

Comment by AB: One of the major mungo kick-ass watch-out Holiday Parties in the universe. And the miracle of it all? It's done without a planner. Can you believe it? If you're into balloon drops, though, maybe rent a movie instead. The event also exemplifies what makes Ess Eff Ess Eff. Uh... what makes Ess Eff Ess Eff, you ask? Everyone's delightful.

The Garage : Systems of Exchange - The Final Pavilion.

Comment by AB: It's swansong time for The Garage, formally the Garage Biennale. It was fun while it lasted, but director Justin Hoover tells me new offings are in the offing. For tonight's ceremonial closing, artifacts and testimonials from gallery goers and the gallery proper will be placed into a rectangular recess in one section of the garage. A heavy concrete slab will then be lowered over the recess, sealing the contents. (Don't have time to hang around for that-- sorry.)
