The Shooting Gallery : Before the Sun Dies, Part 1 (Tempest Horizon) - C3;...Sleep... New Works by Aron Meynell.
Review by RWM: Some scary shit here. The dead animals may be a bit too much for some tastes. Terrific and realistic nonetheless. Some may have been hoping that the Halloween season was over, but that's not necessarily so. Things can still get pretty spooky. Keep your animals and yourselves on guard.
Comment by AB: Finely rendered small-format pencil drawings by C3 at times mimic the look of vintage or period photographs. Others are more fanciful or romantic, and a few, just plain ominous. Reverse the words "nature morte" and you get Aron Meynell's intensely silent animal still-lifes, practically photographic in appearance, but actually charcoal on mylar. They're good enough to fool ya. Worth a look on both counts; check this show out.

White Walls Gallery : Circulatory System - Recent Works by Augustine Kofie.
Review by RWM: Incredible dynamic work fuses the soul and the machine. Fascinating use of perspective and drafting designs. We live in a technological present which often pervades our innards. Here told in pleasing color schemes and no shortage of motion is a modern mechanical tale.

Lopo Gallery : Bunnie Reiss & Monica Canilao - Little Old One.
Review by RWM: Great installation with an old time feel. Here are stories of days gone by which stimulate the Western imagination. You can easily get lost in the draperies and the accompanying images. While lost, you'll discover all sorts of time-related reference points. You just might get so involved, you'll have to go back outside to reconnect with the sunset or stars and regain your bearings on reality.
Comment by AB: Bunnie Reiss and Monica Canilao overwhelmingly outdo themselves, creating a truly immersive floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall experience. Not one iota of the space is left uncovered or unattended to. Need a breather? A nook? A respite? Get all that and more here. Highly recommended. The photos don't do justice.
