Fouladi Projects : Fortune Teller - Russell Tyler.

Review by RWM: Brazen colors and abstractions. Someone spilled the bright yellow mustard and a bunch of other colors on the canvases. Bold and confrontational, but in a fun and funny sort of way.

Comment by AB: This wild colorific textural shindig kinda reminds me of pie in the face, but administered by a thrower who's a qualified sharpshooter.

Ratio 3 Gallery : Miriam Böhm - Before in Front.

Comment by AB: By means of rigorously repetitive photography, Miriam Böhm formulates new ways of looking at space. Another cherry endeavor here at Ratio 3 and definitely worth a visit.

Alter Space : While You Were Gone...

Artists: Adam Joseph Brochstein, Caleb Jagger, Greg Stimac.

Comment by RWM: The West, but not the wild wild west. Interesting with a modern yet down-home sensibility.

Comment by AB: A bit of a perplexer, this. Small town documentary photography, a color-manipulated erupting geyser in video, characters in Old West get-ups, and ghostly depictions of the Transcontinental Railroad's famed Golden Spike. They say it's about memory, which is fine, but how it all comes together is anybody's guess.

Ever Gold Gallery : Adam Parker Smith - Forever 21.

Comment by AB: Adam Parker Smith fetes us with bawdy looking foam and rope sculptures on formica & bungee cord pedestals, oversized eye shades sculpted from window blinds, a prodigious fabric wristband tapestry, a peep hole watermelon, a rusted toy Volkswagen cheated into a bottle, and more. Simultaneously smart, adept, observational, comical and provocative. It's all good here; check it out.
