Root Division : un*bound*ed. Curated by Brent Hallard and Don Voisine.

Artists: Alain Biltereyst, N. Dash, Linda Francis, Anette Haas, Brent Hallard, Gilbert Hsiao, Prajakti Jayavant, Kyle Jenkins, Tarn McLean, Mel Prest, Zachary Royer Scholz, Bret Slater, Dean Smith, Tim Stapel, Kirk Stoller, Richard van der Aa, Don Voisine, Joan Waltemath.

Comment by AB: After perusing the preamble-- peppered with verbiage like genre-crossing, perception, cognition, preconception, contemporary formal painting, subverting, and the like-- I think you need at least a BFA to understand this. Just curious, but would the opposite of "contemporary formal painting" be vintage casual painting? Fortunately, no degrees are necessary to appreciate the quality of work on display from this international assemblage of artists.

White Walls & The Shooting Gallery Gallery : Invisible Texture - Misha Vladimirskiy and APEX (aka Ricardo Richey); APEX - As Above, So Below; Electric Currents and Mortal Wounds - Aaron Li-Hill; Marco Rea - unFashion.

Comment by AB: This month's art fest at the White Walls/Shooting Gallery mega-plex features collaborative work-- APEX paint over Misha Vladimirskiy photographs-- in the front gallery, a clean geometric APEX solo show in the center gallery, Aaron Li-Hill's action painting overlays in the left project room along with a prodigious installation in the back gallery, and rounding the dealie bob out are eerie character studies by Marco Rea in the right project room.

Gauntlet Gallery : Stealing Time - Alec Huxley and Monty Guy.

Comment by AB: Alec Huxley and Monty Guy maneuver us through the darker realms, focusing on the present and postulating on the future in terms of ominous atmospherics as well as attributes of the inhabitants.
