John Berggruen Gallery : Robert Kelly - New Paintings.

Comment by AB: Robert Kelly carries on the tradition of geometric abstraction and before that, Bauhaus and de Stijl, and before that, Russian Constructivism, Suprematism, Malevich and the like. It's new and old at the exact same time. Well done; check it out.

Dolby Chadwick Gallery : Udo Nöger - Beyond.

Comment by AB: The rather magniloquent show statement intimates that Udo Nöger's art may possibly contain the answers to absolutely every question mankind could ever ask. All you have to do is look. Now I don't know about any of that, but I do happen to think it's just plain good art. Is that enough? It is for me.

Haines Gallery : Binh Danh - This, then, is San Francisco; Kota Ezawa - The Aesthetics of Silence.

Comment by AB: Ghostly daguerreotypes by Bin Danh picture San Francisco in ways that allow viewers to experience The City today, but with atmospherics more typical of yesteryear. I've seen a fair number of early SF photographs, and am thinking some of these might additionally duplicate/update known images of the past by having been photographed from the same vantage points as their predecessors. Also on display, Kota Ezawa's reductive black and white and backlit portraits are transmogrifications of photographs of influential modern artists of the past.Excellent show on both counts.

Gregory Lind Gallery : Don Voisine and Cary Smith.

Comment by AB: Two East Coast artists share their perspectives on geometric abstraction. Painting with deliberateness and precision is what makes this art worth seeing and appreciating.

Fraenkel Gallery : Robert Adams - A Road Through Shore Pine.

Comment by AB: This extensive survey exhibition focuses on the distinguished career of Robert Adams including 18 photographs taken in Nehalem Bay State Park, Oregon in 2013 that are being shown in public for the very first time. The exhibit also celebrates all of the books and surveys that have been written about Adams over the past 45 years.

Comment by AB: Zarouhie Abdalian pares down various aspects of environments about as far as one conceivably can regardless of whether they're manmade, natural or mind-made.
