Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco : Blue Tape Series - Álvaro Verduzco.
Comment by AB: Mexico City artist Álvaro Verduzco creates temporary geometric forms on the gallery's walls with blue painters tape. At the end of the run, he'll roll it back up and hand it over to the consulate to be used in installing future shows. According to the crib sheet, the endeavor is not only a commentary on the art "being produced in this savage and ravenous capitalist era," but also "a mutable and elastic exercise in constant motion between art and praxis." Uh... OK.

Ramon's Tailor : Tenderloin Dirt Harvest, Please Be Seated on the Ground - Ilana Crispi.
Comment by AB: A one-acre park in the heart of The Tenderloin is undergoing a major renovation, so Ilana Crispi takes advantage of the opportunity to do a bit of an archaeological dig and excavation of her own. She harvests a few buried artifacts as well as enough dirt to produce an earthy selection of ceramics, jewelry and rudimentary furnishings. The results embody a history of the neighborhood from past to present as seen through artistic eyes.
