Review by RWM: Sometimes terrific, other times uncomfortable memories of the paths taken. Solemn images with haunting titles. Worth the trip regardless. Don't miss the beautiful butterfly display in the hallway entrance by Kirk Maxson. Societal machinations increasingly impact the evolution of living things on the planet, seemingly selecting for beauty. Let the birds and butterflies, none of whom are laughing, lead the way.
Comment by AB: This one's all about exploration, literal and conceptual as well as artistic. The takeaway? You can look at the same exact thing in many different ways... as the artists here demonstrate.

Comment by AB: Lynn Goldsmith's photographed the greats-- Frank Zappa, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, The Rolling Stones and many more. Not only does this survey exhibition include many individual images, but Goldsmith also combines individual mini-images of famous rockers into heroic large-format composite portraits.

Market Street Gallery : Reliquaries, Requiem for the Printed Word - Sandi Miot.
Review by RWM: Sad to be reminded by Sandi Miot of a changing world where books and paper are gradually vanishing. Then again, if fewer trees are cut down, there will be less carbon dioxide in the air and therefore less global warming-- which is good. Some things will probably always be best read on paper, but many others will surely disappear. Written documents have a magical power all their own, but the new communication devices are astounding and we surely don't yet realize the extent of the changes that they will bring.
