SF Camerawork : Tim Sullivan - Participatory Performance; Roger Sayre - Sitting, One-Hour Portraits.
Comment by AB: In the rear gallery, Tim Sullivan scripts and shoots a video of people stranded in a rowboat lost at sea. Anyone who wants to can be in the video-- including yours truly (aka me). In the front gallery, anyone who wants to can have their picture taken by sitting still for one hour in front of Roger Sayre's super-sized pinhole camera. Portraits of previous sitters line the walls of the room.

Comment by AB: City Art Gallery celebrates ten years in operation with "music and mayhem" in the gallery and along the sidewalk and street out front. There is music and plenty of art, of course, but I can't find any mayhem.

San Francisco Art Exchange : Roger Dean - Pathways in the Sky.
Comment by AB: Forty-year celebration and retrospective of fantasy and science fiction paintings, drawings, and limited edition prints by famed album cover artist, designer, and architect Roger Dean. Dean has designed some of the more recognizable album covers in rock music history for bands like Yes, Uriah Heep, Osibisa, Asia, and Greenslade. Painting prices top out near $200K, but you can purchase limited edition prints for under $500. Something for everyone.
