Comment by AB: In the front half of the gallery Beijing and Copenhagen artist Shiyuan Liu's postcards of colorful clay forms might be likened to inkblot tests with respect to the associations they evoke. In the back half of the gallery, a video alternates between people walking down a path and fictional otherworldly seascapes and landscapes. Good show.

Joel B Garzoli Gallery : In the Footsteps of Giambattista Piranesi - Photographs and Film of Rome by Randolph Langenback.
Review by RWM: Great trip back to Italy, both now and in the past. Fun to take this exploration and journey to places and images that defy time. Wonderful detail. Nice place for introspection and revelation. Beauty that is both historical and profound.
Comment by AB: In this fascinating project, Randolph Langenback figured out how to seamlessly superimpose Piranesi prints over contemporary views of Rome in both photographs and film. If you've ever longed to freely travel in time between the past and the present, this is about as close as you're ever going to get. Excellent and highly recommended. This one's a genuine brain bender.
