Nieto Fine Art : As Above, So Below - Trey Reed and Kristina Quinones.

Review by RWM: These artist work their magic in abstract forms. The fascinating color schemes of Kristina Quinones are full of movement. Her multi-mooded art will surely give life to your wall. Trey Reed's work is filled with thought-provoking details, evoking a sense of a compelling past.

Comment by AB: I'd keep an eye on Kristina Quinones; she appears hot on the trail of perfecting an uncommon and dramatic technique of working in acrylic on wood panel. Collectors with a more than aesthetic interest in the future of their holdings may wish to place a wager. Good art on both counts; check it out.

Painted Bird : Cute Gang$ter Birdz - Kool Kid Kreyola.

Review by RWM, image c/o Painted Bird: Cute birds having a tough time in the city, having to constantly defend themselves, and driven here to a life of crime in order to survive, to satisfy their need to eat! But they're adorable nonetheless.

Galleria Design Center: Art for AIDS .

    Artists: Loads

Review and images by DeWitt Cheng: The annual Art for Aids auction benefits UC San Francisco's AIDS Health Project. This year, some 160 juried works are donated by the generous Bay Area artist community; goods and services are provided by equally generous individual and corporate partners, donors and sponsors. The new venue, the five-story atrium inside the Design Center, with its balconies, string lights, and Portman-style glass-sided elevators, lends the proceedings a festive, theatrical air-- part riverboat, part La Scala-- very San Francisco. Great food and drink, and a nice crowd vibe, as always.

The Eagle Tavern : Leather Art Auction for Visual Aid .

Comment by AB: The Folsom Street Fair is tomorrow, and what better way to celebrate the impending event than to head on over to the venerable Eagle Tavern and bid on art up for auction to benefit Visual Aid, an organization that provides programs for artists living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses.
