RayKo Photo Center : The Brothers - Elin Høyland; High Plains Drifters - Amanda Boe and Sarah Christianson.

Review by Clare Coppel: In the right gallery, Elin Høyland's body of work, "The Brothers," is a documentary series of beautiful images portraying the daily life of two brothers, Harald and Mathias Ramen, living a very old school way of life in rural Norway.

In the left gallery, "High Plains Drifters," photographs by Sarah Christianson and Amanda Boe, document North Dakota and South Dakota respectively. The images are of the farms and farming communities where both of these women were raised... and then left, like many people who come from the Dakotas. There is a ghostly quality and a quiet straightforwardness in both series of work, echoing the silence of the plains.

Artists Alley : San Francisco Erotic Art Exhibition.

Comment by AB: More erectile tissue than you can shake a penis at. Over 400 works of erotic art by more than thirty artists. I wish I could show you everything but mommy says no.

60Six Gallery : Design & Dissolution - Oliver DiCicco and Julian Hönig.

Review by RWM: Wild abstractions. Interesting kinetic contraptions by Oliver DiCicco will fascinate even the engineers. Cool to see these unusual machines tell their tales.

Comment by AB: Industrial designer Julian Hönig's abstracts are painted on top of schematic diagrams originally done for Audi.

Wire + Nail Gallery : Adam Gray and Sam Fuchs - HellaMoreFunner presents Pizza Party!

Comment by AB: Adam Gray and Sam Fuchs do a pretty convincing (and entertaining) job of making art that reflects the overwhelming inundation of stimuli that constantly bombard today's youth. Plus they've put together a big fat book about it. Nicely done.

San Francisco Dump Artist in Residence Exhibitions : Lauren DiCioccio - Who Can I Turn To (When Nobody Needs Me); Abel Rodriguez - Out of Sight, Out of Mind; Kaiya Rainbolt - Upscale.

Comment by AB: Intricately sewn works by Lauren DiCioccio incorporate chards of discarded fabric. Single-color constructions by Abel Rodriguez seem almost like ghost ships rescued from the sea. Kaiya Rainbolt's sculptural ingredients included toilet balls, old postage stamps and sheet metal.

Comment by AB: This major annual fundraiser live and silent auction event benefits the UCSF AIDS Health Project. Hey collectors-- check out that list of donating artists and make sure you tootle yourself on down for next year's bidding and buying opportunities. Plus it's a major kick-ass party.
