Yerba Buena Center for the Arts : Tom Sachs - Space Program, Europa
Comment by AB: If you've ever wondered what space travel might have been like in the golden age of the space race, Tom Sachs does a mind-blowing job of putting viewers right in the heart of the action. Or if you're only here for the art, he goes intergalactic with assemblage like perhaps no artist ever has before. So much detail, so well thought out, such tantalizing story lines, so completely convincing. This show is the best I've seen at YBCA, and the best I've seen anywhere around town in a while. It's so good I'm slappin' a Pick of the Season on it. Don't believe me? Go see for yourself. The best.

Comment by AB: Art for AIDS is a juried live and silent auction with proceeds going to benefit the UCSF Alliance Health Project. Definitely one of the best and most worthy fundraisers of the year, this year featuring over 180 works of art by emerging to established artists. Always worth attending and supporting.
