Comment by AB: The art is well thought out structurally, compositionally and colorwise, but seems a little rough around the edges at times. The show statement suggests a narrative, action, scenes and references to modernist art movements of the past. A lot to see, but not necessarily all that easy to recognize.

Moroso Projects : Sun Tan - Alistair Matthews & Josh Reames.
Comment by AB: Two artists present typical objects in atypical ways, messing with everything from cigarette butts to cucumber slices. Alistair Matthews goes droll with photography while Josh Reames amuses it up in sculpture and paint. Nice work on both counts.

The Luggage Store Gallery : David Gurman - Reflector Project.
Comment by RWM: Changing images on the walls. Interesting water works. One can look into the water in an unusual way. You don't see images of water projected onto the walls very often.
Comment by AB: With the aid of science and technology professionals, David Gurman develops a system of translating relative Richter levels of manmade activities around the world into periodic surface disturbances on pools of otherwise still water. Manmade calamities like bombs going off in war zones, glaciers cracking as a result of rising temperatures, and nuclear weapons tests are viewable in real time, and documented according to the specific locations where they occur. Good show. Go see.

Review by RWM: Fun show despite the dark sentiment. Interesting colors and designs. Expressive in a narrative sort of way. Tough times for those who have to compete to survive. Fun for those who don't really have to take life seriously.
