Comment: Artists from around the world come together on this Fifth Anniversary of 911 to discourse through art on the subject of terror-- what it means and how it impacts our lives. The expressions range from unconventional to esoteric and the works are modest, but the concept is major-- that so many so different from so near and so far unite in peace over such a provocative topic.

Maybe this model has legs; maybe more people should know that such a diverse coming together is possible; maybe a little mass media attention for harmony through art is in order. But alas, it ain't gonna happen. It has no entertainment value; it lacks sensation. Viewers would click straight through to the sex, violence, polarizing partisan news talk, paternity tests, reality shows topheavy with obnoxious egocentric exhibitionists, campaign ads showing everything bad about every candidate running for office in the upcoming election, trash-mouth "judges" presiding over meaningless disputes between bickering nickel-dime dimwits, CNN's repackaging of war into a couch potato spectator sport, celebrity gossip, and related lewdness, because Lord knows, our lives are so devoid of meaning that we lap vomit from the gutter just to go to bed satisfied, like we've been somewhere, seen something, orgasmed on the 24/7 value-void flat panel freak show-- and in so doing, satisfy the corporate sponsors' unrelenting jones to bulk their bottom lines (regardless of the consequences) and deliver those almighty quarterly profits to the shareholders. Sick, isn't it?

Sorry, but every now and then I get irked.
