Comment by AB: The Kadist art complex is tricked out in full regalia tonight. In storefront #1, Ben Kinmont serves up an edible exhibition-- a complete gourmet meal consisting of an aromatic appetizer, a mashed organic potato sampler plate, steak tartare with whole yolk of quail egg, black truffle ice cream, fresh figs and more. Yummy yum yum. Oh... almost forgot... the entire affair is courtesy of Kadist. Thank you! Meanwhile, Kinmont has transformed storefront #2 into a working rare bookstore stocked with antique books, pamphlets, broadsides and other erudite delicacies on gastronomy (he's a specialist in antiquarian books on that subject, among other specialties, and a member of the esteemed Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America). In storefront #3, Ooga Booga, an artist book and zine store from Los Angeles sets up a temporary San Francisco subsidiary with an ample and engaging selection of literary delights to choose from. This one's a triple winner.
