In Color 2 : Some Kinda Summer Show. p>Photographers: Amy Auerbach, Melissa Borman, Joe Brook, Christopher Hall, Jason Karpman, Dennis Letbetter, Joe Brook, Jeff Gros, Kerry Mansfield, Kristine Mendoza, Susan Sims-Hillbrand, Constance Smith, Heidi Yount.

Comment by AB: In Color 2's second annual juried exhibition of color photographs themed on the topic of summer. Entries are submitted by photographers across the country. My faves? Recent Poloroids by Joe Brook that have been so convincingly vintaged up, they look look like they were taken decades ago. Check 'em out; you won't believe it either.

Art For AIDS at Bonhams & Butterfields Auction House : Art for AIDS 2009.

      Artists: Loads.

Review and images by DeWitt Cheng: UCSF's Art for Aids Auction benefits the AIDS Health Project. Now in its twenty-fifth year, this event brings together artists (140 this year), galleries, collectors, corporate sponsors and a public-spirited audience; it's also a great party, with top-tier food and drink and the fine-art vibe of Bonhams & Butterfields. A Very San Francisco evening (live and silent auctions, light schmoozing and boozing) benefiting a great cause. (Full disclosure: I've served as a volunteer juror for several years.)
