Ian Ross Gallery : Tension Blooms - Rachelle Reichert & Brenton Bostwick.

Comment by AB: This one's all about humanity and nature-- how we relate, overlap, balance and coexist. Rachelle Reichert replaces facial features with floral arrangements and bouquets in paintings and drawings. Brenton Bostwick treats skulls in a similar manner, embellishing them with floral flourishes. He also sculpts with materials like pieces of shells and found wood, mainly twigs and branches, that he meticulously sands, polishes and combines in ways that make them look like they were always meant to be together.

A scenic smattering of the goings on at the Divisadero Art Walk ...

Comment by AB: This isn't exactly a gallery district. In fact, I'm not even sure there's a single dedicated art gallery anywhere along the Divisadero Strip. But there is art-- leaning against buildings along the sidewalk as well as in a number of the neighborhood shops, restaurants and bars. Regardless of what this event may or may not be, tons of people show up to eat, drink, congregate, socialize, mill about and just plain partake in the scene (average age range seems somewhere in the twenties).
