Comment by AB: Opening ceremony for the documentary exhibition "Jews of the Fillmore," organized by The Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley and currently on view in the Jazz Heritage Center's Koret Heritage Lobby at Yoshi's San Francisco. I manage to catch a little of Assemblyman Mark Leno's convocation in the main auditorium.

Comment by AB: According to Nicole Repack aka Jocelyn Superstar of Superstar Productions, "the art in this exhibit deals with the current United States economy, money, recycling, luck, and gambling." What does it all portend? Fake fur, sequins galore, plastic jewels, scratched loser lottery tickets, drinking high fructose sodas to the point of insulin shock trying to win prizes on the insides of bottle caps, and more peppy over-the-top despondency than you can shake an empty wallet at.
