Comment by AB: Doubleheader of abstract/representational blends by Eric Michael Corrigan and Livia Stein (Stein more abstract, Corrigan more representational), both on the optimistic upbeat side, referencing memories, life's adventures, pop culture and the like. This is one of the more astute parings I've enjoyed in a while, as you can oscillate effortlessly between one artist's work and the other's.

San Francisco Art Exchange : Yes and Asia, Along with Roger Dean.
Comment by AB: Two rock bands for the ages, Yes and Asia, are in town to play a concert together at the Warfield Theatre on July 2. In conjunction with this event, the San Francisco Art Exchange presents an exhibition of art by legendary album cover artist Roger Dean, creator of nearly all the covers for both Yes and Asia over the past 30+ years. The gallery is thick with rockers, mostly vintage types, and I'm shuffling around taking pics and stuff when this dude comes out of the back room and gets instantly swarmed. So I snap a few quick shots, and a couple of minutes later when he leaves, I ask one of the swarmers who he was, and he looks at me like I'm from Neptune and says, "The guitarist (of Yes)-- Steve Howe." Life in the clueless lane-- that's me.
