SPECIAL REPORT
DIGITAL DINING WITH BOB PRITIKIN
06.14.05

Robert C. Pritikin, Chenery House , and Wendy's : Bob Pritikin Anna Ayala Chili Finger Motorcoach Wendy's Culinary Adventure.

Comment: I know, I know. It's not exactly art, but it's kinda art. Let's call it a performance piece. Local panjandrum, Bob Pritikin, owner of the famed Chenery House, rents a motorcoach and invites 30 close friends and family to dine at the San Jose Wendy's where Anna Ayala pulled her brilliant I-found-a-human-finger-in-my-chili stunt. The art part is that Pritikin, a creative colossus with time on his hands, buys a bag of mini breadsticks, then takes each one, draws two sets of three parallel ink lines on it to simulate joints, and tops it with a press-on nail like the kind you buy at the drugstore. Voila-- fingers. So off we all bus to San Jose-- full cocktail service, of course, provided-- with intrepid Bob and his zip-lock baggie of ersatz fingers at the vanguard. Once at Wendy's, chili is ordered, and Bob carefully places a single handcrafted simu-digit into each sumptuous cup just before it's served-- and there you go. Dinner. So what are we waiting for? Let's eat!

Meanwhile, out in the parking lot...

And let's not forget the view.

Sooner or later, all good things must end.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, but memories last forever.
