Intersection for the Arts : Motion Graphics - In and Beyond the Street.

Artists: Ricardo Richey with Evan Bissell, Ana Teresa Fernandez, Chad Hasegawa, Favianna Rodriguez, Eric Staller.

Comment by AB: Exhibition about street and outdoor art. Yes, it's about the art, but even more so, it's about various ways of communicating with and involving the public. Attractions include Ana Teresa Fernandez gussying upf the barrier fence between the USA and Mexico, striking vintage time-lapse photographs by Eric Staller, and a super-sized bear installation by Chad Hasegawa.

San Francisco Opera : The Magic Flute.

    Artists: Jun Kaneko.

Comment by AB, performance photos c/o Cory Weaver, SF Opera: This updated version of Mozart's final opera, The Magic Flute, features costumes and set design by renowned Japanese artist Jun Kaneko, known mainly for his imposing oversized ceramics. Here, he creates animated abstract backdrops on multiple big screens and enchantingly imaginative costumes that are guaranteed to keep you captivated from overture to curtain calls. Whether you like opera or not, this performance is a bewitchingly beautiful feast, like looking at a painting with a constantly evolving composition.
