Sherwood Gallery : Surface - Facundo Arganaraz, Joshua Churchill, Christine M. Peterson.

Comment by AB: A clean curvilinear sheet metal sculpture by Facundo Arganaraz catches my eye, incorporating what appears to be a piece of a chair. Also on the docket are wall works by Facundo Arganaraz, chimeric backlit photographic images by Joshua Churchill, and light installations by Christine M. Peterson.

Hang Art Gallery : Blocks - Jeanne Lydon and Catherine Palmer.

Review by Anneliese Vobis: While Jeanne Lydon presents controlled abstract paintings, Catherine Palmer reflects on the architecture and topography of San Francisco houses.

12 Gallagher Lane : Dudley Zopp, Jonah Ward.

Comment by AB: In the ground floor gallery, Dudley Zopp depicts the natural beauty of the coastline and countryside of her home state of Maine in abstract meditative ways. Upstairs, Jonah Ward's intriguing "textured paintings" are in fact composed entirely of either Madrone bark or paper-like pieces of wasp nests.

Spoke Art Gallery : Casey Weldon - New World Hoarder; Peter Adamyan.

Review by Anneliese Vobis: A show about deep psychological meaning. The use of surrealistic imagery heightens the expressive nature of the art. Personifications can be seen as straightforward allegories to elucidate the audience about unconscious dreamlike situations and ideas.

Comment by AB: In the back gallery, enjoy Peter Adamyan's curious editorial forays into pop culture, religion, war, corporations, the environment, nostalgia and more.

Gallery Heist : You're Welcome. Curated by Timothy D. Maguder.

Artists: Chris Corrente, Jason Phinney, Gonzalo de Sepulveda.

Review by Anneliese Vobis: Jason Phinney's strong artificial colors contrast with cool technique in form of video projections by Chris Corrente. One the opposite side of the gallery, Gonzalo de Sepulveda melts soft pastel colors together in a warm painterly style.

Treehouse Gallery : The Characternities and Other Funny Pictures by Ray Sumser.

Review by Anneliese Vobis: Ray Sumser's style is monumental, obsessive, loaded with comical imagery and extremely interesting. While some work is very loud and story telling, his little abstract paintings force us to cool down and relax. Endless hidden messages are worth a second look.
