Comment by AB: According to their website, Kadist Art Foundation is "dedicated to promoting contemporary art through the constitution of an art collection and the organization of exhibitions and residencies in its space in Paris. Kadist's intention is to be actively involved in the promotion and international dimension of contemporary art... The Kadist San Francisco residency is realized with the support of the French American Cultural Society (FACS) and the French Consulate of San Francisco."
For tonight's one-night event, everyone is allowed to bring an object of their choice, no dimension larger than 10 inches, to be placed in a drawer embedded within a wall, subsequently to be exposed directly onto photosensitive paper, and voila-- art. The best part? It's yours to keep for free. While you're waiting for your art to actualize, you can either enjoy a video playing on a wall in the space next door, or engage in stimulating artful conversations with a panoply of bright and creative characters. Well thought out.... and the artiest art venue in town.
