      05.30.09
      (with assistance from RWM)

ArtZone 461 Gallery : Nenad Kostic - 1/24th of a Second; Becky Robbins - Confluence.

Comment by AB: In the main gallery, Nanad Kostic's inspirations include the likes of Mad Max, animation classics, and supernova explosions. In the side gallery, Becky Robbins presents a diverse and engaging selection of encaustic portraits embellished with abstract flourishes.

Collectively Grasp : Chris Ritson - Tomorrow is Eager, the Anomalies of Phenomena.

Review by RWM: It is hard to continue to find and produce only beauty in environmental art. There is the wonder of nature experience and the merger of pop and recycling art, but often the planetary diagnosis is a downer. Collectively Grasp seeks to explore the darker story of our relationship with the natural world. The work is political rather than ornamental. There are sophisticated but not clear ideas behind the photographic animal replica collages, crystal growth displays, and video displayed here. One will find a disturbing environmental messages made.

      Tedda Hughes : Group Show.

Comment by AB: In addition to the art at this gallery and boutique, there's a raffle and according to the rules, the winner "gets whatever she wants in the store (within reason)."

Small jock strap art (that's what they are, right?).
