Comment by AB: Art meets activism as Monica Canilao & Xara Thustra collaborate over an 18-month period to cram the second floor gallery with a bewildering array of paintings, assemblages, murals, found objects, photography, video, installations, sitting areas, conversation zones, meditative spaces, participatory activities, and more. It's like wandering through an imaginative maze of creative feminist, social, racial, ancestral, political, gender-related, identity-related, and counter-capitalist memoranda interspersed with saturated splashes of pure unadulterated art. Plenty to see and appreciate as you immerse yourself in color, contemplation, and respites along the way.
