Review by RWM: Fascinating works inspired by Nature from Jenny Bloomfield. One can guess that they were influenced by the outdoors. Nice and earthy with horizons sometimes evident, even if abstract. Interesting cyanotype processes by Anne Terpstra. Close observations reveal inner structures among the monochrome.

Review by RWM: Vibrant colors collide to form shapes in the works assembled. Odd combinations on display from Evan Venegas. Nice to see the emotion and sometimes choas of Erik Otto. Beauty to be found here in the fervent unusualness on display.

[ 2nd Floor Projects ] : Arnold J. Kemp - How to Make Mirrors; Robert Gluck - My Last Day, An Essay.
Comment by AB: Arnold J. Kemp crumples, shapes and photographs aluminum foil against plain white backgrounds, the results looking eerily face-esque. Since the show is called "How to Make Mirrors," I suppose that means you look see yourself-- not necessarily how you want to see yourself, but yourself just the same. Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm not... but either way, I like 'em.
Included at no extra charge are several floor-based installations, my favorite facing off a pair of Italian designer chausseurs against a pair Kemp made himself (at least that's what I'm told, so I'll assume it's true). They both look good, but having some knowledge of shoes, I pick 'em up pair by pair to see whether they have stitched soles. The Italian ones do; Kemp's are only glued. From the look on Kemp's face, I shouldn't have messed with the art. But stitching does last longer.
