Comment by AB: An interactive installation by David Buuck, mimicking an office space both inside and out, explores our experience and comprehension of urban space. Nicely done. Also tonight, Blue Studios-- a group of artist studios on the fourth floor-- are open for the first night festivities of this weekend's Spring Studio Stroll in the Mission.

Queens Nails Projects and Photo Epicenter : The Secret of the Ninth Planet.
Artists: Raymond Boisjoly, Chu Yun, Jasmina Cibic, Maryam Jafri, Yael Kanarek, Kitty Kraus, Gabriel Lester, Euan Macdonald, Gianni Motti, Kamau Patton, Dario Robleto, Sham Saenz, Tokihiro Sato, Suzanne Treister, Matt Volla, and Hillary Wiedemann.
Review by RWM: The Secret of the Ninth Planet is not revealed to all or at least not to this viewer who has to squeeze through the crowds looking for answers. As the crowds continue to chat away, now there is a tenth and eleventh... Those big rocks out there at the end of the solar system continue to fascinate as do all the wild things on the walls of this show. Much of the pleasure is being able to get there, but those big rocks out there continue to teach us lessons.
Comment by AB: This is the 2009 final thesis exhibition for students in the Graduate Program in Curatorial Practice at California College of the Arts in San Francisco.

Workspace Limited : Opening Party for Spring Art Stroll in the Mission.
Comment by AB: Those of you who confine your artland adventures exclusively to galleries and museums miss out on oh so much of San Francisco's artistic action. I mean The City is absolutely overflowing with artists of every ilk imaginable, creating away-- some in search of fame and fortune, others simply making art simply because they're compelled to do so, and who don't care if they ever sell a thing. Yes my artful darlings, perusing open studios is kinda like a treasure hunt-- you never know what visual riches await your discovery.
