In the I-can't-say-I've-ever-seen-one-of-these-before department are a meandering back scratcher wall piece, and several pairs of men's bikini briefs crocheted from inert strains of cannabis twine, both by Cirilo Domine.

Comment by AB: Molly McCracken Kumar portrays the continuities of birth, death, and rebirth through a series of abstract compositions-- amorphous backgrounds with snowflake flourishes-- representing fundamental components of life in relation to life's expansive evolutionary unfoldings.

Gallery 16 : Lauren Davies - When Hell Freezes Over.

Comment by AB: Yet another odd odyssey deep into the interior of artistic anthropology courtesy of Lauren Davies. In this exciting episode, we head north to the land of polar bears, icebergs, snowballs, glaciers, urine spotted snow, permafrost, lichen, and the like. It's the perfect night for this opening, by the way, 'cuz it's like eighty degrees outside, and they're serving sno-cones. Davies tells me the concept for the exhibit sprung from a recent trip she took to the far north country where, as is her wont, she visited various area museums and repositories, and perused esoteric collections of local and regional artifacts.
