Gallery Wendi Norris : Ana Teresa Fernández - Foreign Bodies; Leonora Carrington - The Celtic Surrealist.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: Intriguing video of underwater scenes by Ana Teresa Fernández of horse and human. Interesting to examine how video can play a part in the creation of segmented artworks. Floating relaxing contrast with stress and fear. Much emphasis on legs creates conceptual content.

Comment by AB: Poignant and beautifully painted self-portraits of Ana Teresa Fernández gazing through gaps in the US/Mexico border fence are also on display. In the rear gallery enjoy an impressive selection of vintage surrealist works by Leonora Carrington that reference and honor her Irish ancestry. Go see.

Gregory Lind Gallery : Chris Corales - Permanent Vacation, Recent Collages.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: Lovely minimalist collages hark back to Richard Tuttle. However these small collages rely on the grid for organization, forming interesting space and shape segments within the compositions.

Comment by AB: Chris Corales creates his direct uncomplicated collages entirely out of recycled paper, many pieces of which show yellowing and various other signs of age. Good work and worth a visit.

Toomey Tourell Gallery : Dorothy Goode - Sharpie Looks For God.

Review by Kathryn Arnold: Nice sense of spontaneity and informal comps. A few harken reminders of Sam Francis yet these display a sense of play.

Comment by AB: Joyous conjoined splashes of color are occasionally embellished with snippets of text.

Corden Potts Gallery : Falling from Grace - Lydia Panas.

Comment by AB: In a twist on portrait photography, Lydia Panas pairs her sitters with food and then photographs them in such a way as to let the food suggest the narratives rather than the individuals holding it.
