San Francisco Art Exchange : Storm Thorgerson Exhibit and Film Screening Event.

Comment by AB: Select examples of Storm Thorgerson's amazing album cover art are on exhibit in conjunction with the release of a new feature length documentary film on his life and work, "Taken by Storm, The Art of Storm Thorgerson and Hipgnosis." He's created hundreds of album covers over the past 45 years ands his still going strong. And to think that many signature works were produced long before Photoshop ever existed (in other words, no digital diddling-- all real, all posed). His client list reads like a history of Rock & Roll and includes Pink Floyd, T. Rex, The Pretty Things, UFO, 10cc, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Scorpions, Yes, Paul McCartney & Wings, The Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, ELO, XTC, Genesis, Black Sabbath, Peter Gabriel, The Mars Volta, Steve Miller, The Cranberries, Muse, Biffy Clyro, etc etc etc.

Comment by AB: Documentary images by 48 photographers, dating from the 1970s to the present. The mission of En Foco, a New York non-profit, is to support photographers from diverse cultures, particularly Americans of Latino, African, Asian, Pacific, Native American heritage, and to collect their work. Three floors of photographs.
