The Contemporary Jewish Museum : Show Me as I Want to Be Seen
Artists: Claude Cahun, Marcel Moore, Nicole Eisenman, Rhonda Holberton, Hiwa K, Young Joon Kwak, Zanele Muholi, Toyin Ojih Odutola, Gabby Rosenberg, Tschabalala Self, Davina Semo, Isabel Yellin.
Comment by AB: Featuring the work of French Surrealist Claude Cahun aka Lucy Schwab (1894-1954) and her lover/collaborator Marcel Moore aka Suzanne Malherbe (1892-1972) along with ten contemporary artists, the exhibition focuses on aspects of identity including how we portray ourselves, how others portray us, who gets to tell whose stories, and how the whole dealie-bob is in an ever-changing state of flux. The 88 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, video, mixed-media, and photography, will be on exhibit from February 7 to July 7, 2019. Plenty to see and think about. Definitely worth a visit.
