Gallery Paule Anglim : Memento Mori, Towards a Compendium of Disseminations - Frances Stark; Scanning the Long Sleeves of the Shore - Colter Jacobsen.

Review by RWM: Interesting to see the feedback and maybe even venting in Frances Stark's exhibition which seems to exhume her mental states. One could say it would be fascinating what a psychologist, not a therapist, no I am not saying crazy, would make of the work, which is like looking at someone's psyche on the wall. Stylistic and artistic elements abound and confound.

Comment by AB: In the side gallery, Colter Jacobsen rescues miscellaneous throwaways from oblivion and collages portions of them into the same image over and over again-- a neatly pressed shirt, either hanging or laying flat. Some shirt collages stand alone, others are camouflaged within backgrounds of their originating materials. The simple seductive ingeniousness of it all is guaranteed to reel you in and hold your attention, perhaps in hopes that the mystery will reveal itself. Worth a visit on both counts.
